Q: What are you mostly about?
A: Mostly love, resisting oppression, and looking to promote voices that interest us.
Q: Is this a paid gig?
A: Currently no. But we are looking into ways to fund our writers in the future.
Q: I haven’t heard back yet from my submission. Was it rejected?
A: We’re sorry we haven’t gotten back to you yet. We will contact you on any submissions within 10 days.
Q: Why was my submission rejected?
Editors may reject for many different reasons. The most common reason we turn someone down is lack of organization for the piece and the overall theme or conclusion is not clear. If we think a piece has potential we might work with you on it to publish later.
We're not interested in snark or tearing someone down. If you're writing critically but thoughtfully, we're interested.
We will reject outright a piece on a political candidate. That’s not our game.
It's not personal if we turn down one of your pieces, it's just how something fits with what else we’re working on.

Q: don’t identify as “feminist” or as a woman. Can I still write for you?
Yes! Especially if your work moves us. Feminism isn’t for everyone. Some people resonate with the movement more than others. And also, we have non-woman writers too. Gender does not influence whether or not we decide to publish your work.
Q: I am an artist/activist and I want to be featured in your magazine. Can you interview/promote me?
It’s really up to our individual writers who they feel compelled to interview. When we look for artists to feature we’re looking for a body of work we can reference, or a portfolio, and clear ties to how this artist is influencing the community around them. If you work we can reference your work (such as your own website portfolio), and your work is especially compelling to us, yes, we would love to interview you!
